What Boda Insurance Covers

Rider, Passenger, and Motorcycle Protection

👤

Rider Protection

Personal Accident Cover (PA): Pays for rider injuries, disability, or death resulting from an accident. Some policies also include hospital cash benefits.

Legal Protection: Covers compensation claims if the rider injures someone or damages property while riding. This is part of Third Party Only (TPO) insurance, which is legally required.

👥

Passenger Protection

Passengers are not automatically covered under basic TPO. Passenger Legal Liability (PLL) must be added.

PLL covers:

  • Passenger injuries
  • Passenger death
  • Compensation claims made by passengers

PLL typically costs KES 500 per passenger per year.

If a rider carries passengers for hire without PLL, claims are rejected, even if TPO is valid.
